This premium Japanese rice, "Shinnosuke" 新之助 took many years to develop and is produced in Niigata prefecture, one of the major rice production areas in Japan.
It has a good scent, stickiness, and a good texture. It has a very good balance of flavor, sweetness, stickiness, and chewiness, and is said to be a bowl of completed rice. It also features a higher moisture content than other rice. Upon the first bite, it is impressive that the giant germ explodes in the mouth.
Sweetness appears first, followed by the familiar savory rice flavor which continues until the aftertaste, which remains umami.
